Indian Dance Troupe, Cork

Aatma is the embodiment of the spirit of diversity. The dance troupe Aatma was founded in 2018 by Dr. Lekha Menon Margassery (President of UCC Indian Alumni Community) who had the vision to create a platform for both students and alumni of University College Cork (UCC) to follow and express their passion for Indian dances.

Founder and Director

Dr. Lekha Menon Margassery

Dr. Lekha Menon Margassery is the Founder and Director of Aatma Indian Dance Troupe, Cork. She is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer under Late Mr. Dhandayuthapani Pillai and Late Mr. Venkatesan of Sri Sakthi Natya Kala Nilayam. She has been trained in Karagam and Tarangam, a unique feature of Kuchipudi. She is currently learning Kathak from Ms. Manasi Nadkarni who is the founder of Kathak in Cork. She has various accolades to her belt both from India and Ireland. She  had the vision to create a platform for both students and alumni of University College Cork (UCC) to follow and express their passion for Indian dances and that’s how Aatma was born. Aatma is an institution which not only focuses on dance but also helps to build their personality and teach them how to work as a team.
